Squaresoft has had plenty of hits and misses through there long career. Final Fantasy X was a smash hit that brought more people than even into the role playing game genre. It features classic turn based combat with a very cool twist on summons from Final Fantasy VII. It also features the new leveling up grid, that allows you to customize your characters in any way you see fit.
Final Fantasy X follows the reluctant young hero Tidus in his quest to save the world and reunite with his father. There is also a love interest in Yuna, and a loveable cast of characters in Wakka, Lulu, Auron, and many more. This is a Playstation 2 "Greatest Hit" that you can find at most major game retailers for 20 dollars, and much less online used. This is a great cornerstone for any Playstation collection.

Resistance 2 for Playstation 3 is Pretty Average

Resistance 2 for Playstation 3 is Pretty Average

Resistance 2 continues on after Resistance: Fall of Man, and focuses on our hero, Nathan Hale on his journey to destroy the chimera. Most of the game is as generic as they come, with zero recoil to any guns, sub-par cell shaded graphics, and the characters all felt the same. However the game did have a few good moments, fighting the gigantic monster (the size of sky scrapers) in New York City is pretty neat to watch, however in action the fight is actually pretty lame. Resistance 2 also features a pretty nice online co-op mode that has unique story elements. However it does get to feel like an objective type game at times, and Resistance 2 can't compete with other objective based shooters like Killzone 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2. All in all the game is generic, but now that the price has gone done it could be worth a play through if you have some spare time.

Could Playstation 3 hit Uncharted 2 be headed to the big screen?

With video game movies being more and more common a big screen adaption would not be unexpected for the Uncharted franchise. The cornerstones of Uncharted as a franchise are beautiful scenery, have a great story with tons of twists, and have Nathan Drake be a happy go lucky treasure hunter. This sounds like something that would easily make the transition to the movie theatres. And because Sony is very prominent in the silver screen game I see more than one sign pointing towards an Uncharted movie. Who would fit the role for Nathan Drake? His video game voice actor Nolan North looks kind of like him.. Hugh Jackman would be a pretty good fit, he is a grizzled guy who can also crack jokes.
So don't be surprised when you see a crazy trailer for the Uncharted movie, also if you don't own Uncharted or Uncharted 2 for the Playstation 3 go and pick those up.

Metal Gear Solid Shocks Playstation 2 Owners

Metal Gear Solid 2 was billed as the epic continuation of the Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid. Before the games release a long demo was released that featured game play as the stealthy Solid Snake, and most of the games trailers showed nothing but Snake in stealth action. Once the game was actually released the world was shocked to see that the main character was a young blonde soldier by the name of Raiden… or Jack. This pretty much pissed everyone off that bought the game, because let's face it, everyone wants to be the immortal bad ass, Solid Snake.
However once gamers looked past that they saw that Metal Gear Solid 2 revolutionized what was possible in the Metal Gear Solid universe. The game play in Metal Gear Solid is about fifty times better than in Metal Gear Solid. The game is super cheap at online retails and Gamestop, do yourself a favor and try it out.

Does Playstation 2’s Grand Theft Auto have the coolest setting of all video games?

Does Playstation 2’s Grand Theft Auto have the coolest setting of all video games?
© Silvio Sousa Cabral

Have you ever played a game that had a level or world that you found so beautiful and fascinating that you thought it would be cool to live there?

I felt this way only once and it was when I played GTA:Vice City for the first time. The scenery was gorgeous with its tropical colors and the 80s look. The size of the city was perfect as it allowed plenty of space to explore and it was still easy to know your way around. But don't get me wrong. I enjoy reality and wouldn't trade my life and hometown for Vice City.

The game utilizes the Playstation 2 to the max, with great graphics and a sprawling open world. The vehicles all fit the 80's look and drive great. If I had to choose one video game world to live in it would be Vice City without a doubt.
